Carnon River


The bed and banks of the Carnon River are stained red by iron oxide and other pollutants from the disused mines of the Gwennap mining district. There was a famous "pollution event" after Wheal Jane was allowed to flood in the early nineties but there are around 50 disused mines in the district and I'm sure that water from many shafts apart from Wheal Jane still finds its way into the river.

Also, it seems I need an ND filter with better coatings...
